Aurora Fusion Labs

A SAFE in a compact tokamak that has not yet reached scientific breakeven.

Rare-earth barium copper oxide superconductors allow a much higher magnetic field, and confinement improves steeply with field strength, which is why a compact machine is now arguable at all. Aurora has demonstrated a full-scale magnet at field and published the results. It has not produced net energy, and neither has anyone else in a commercial setting. This is one of the most speculative offerings on the platform and is priced accordingly at a $50 minimum.

Proof of principle for the confinement approach exists in the literature; net energy does not exist anywhere commercially. The band is the widest on the platform. This score should be read as an argument that the physics is worth funding, not as a forecast that it will work.

At TRL 3, the ladder permits SAFE or Convertible note and releases up to 15% of committed capital. This offering is structured as a safe, which is consistent with that band.
